Andy Scothern - Marketing

Andy is a serial entrepreneur and has launched four businesses in the last 15 years. His largest success was a business which he grew to £10 million turnover within 7 years of founding and during the over of which he spent close to £6 million on marketing.

This was in the early days of the internet and so the majority of the budget was spent mass advertising on Television, Radio, Buses, Trams, Classified ads, Yellow Pages, direct mail, leaflets and even shirt sponsorship for a football club.

However since utilising the internet to generate leads, the same results are being achieved from a marketing spend which is less than 20% of its former size and every pound spent is now accountable, removing the guess work from the marketing campaigns.

 

Shaun Walsh - Business control & reporting

Shaun is a Former Price Waterhouse Coopers Chartered accountant with extensive audit, corporate finance and FD experience with companies up to £650 million turnover. He is a Certified Management Consultant and was previously Director of Business Consulting with RSM Bentley Jennison.

Shaun also performed the role of the Non Executive Chairman of Nottingham NHS Citihealth with responsibility for a £50m budget and 1500+ staff. He is a Founder Director of 4 start ups and portfolio business investor and so has experience in start - ups, owner managed businesses, corporate and public sector.

 

Duncan Bradford - Websites

Duncan Bradford has been traditionally trained in design, film & animation, and computer programming and draws upon leadership and technical expertise gained through a broad media background over the past 15 years, encompassing: 3D computer modelling / animation, television production, multimedia and website development.

In 1996 he led a team developing Citroen UK's first website with a £1million + project value. Since then he has directly been responsible for building over 500 websites and has overseen the development of over 3,200 websites for clients including HM Treasury, MI5, numerous NHS Trusts, over 50 local authorities, many regional Fire and Police departments and several hundred SMEs.

Duncan is passionate about helping businesses harness the full power of the web and not waste money on websites that are ineffective or unseen. He is a web 2.0 expert and since he has been involved in website development from the start, has a tremendous understanding of all aspects of developing an online strategy.

 

Andrea Lewis - New Media

Andrea has over 12 years of professional experience working in digital media in the United States ( New York City ) since 1999.

As an experienced Executive Producer and Senior Director overseeing strategy and execution at organizations including MTV Networks-Viacom Andrea has huge experience in leading and managing E business projects, teams and budgets.

In addition to working for large corporations, Andrea has also consulted to many owner managed businesses and, helping entrepreneurs to uncover the value of online marketing initiatives and capitalize on the power of social media.  Andrea is passionate about the Internet as a revolutionary tool that levels the playing field for small businesses and makes them more competitive.

Andrea holds a degree in Psychology from Harvard University , and worked on organizational behaviour projects at Harvard Business School .  She is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Cyber Psychology at Nottingham Trent University , the first university in the world to offer this degree.

 

Terry Hamil - Automated Marketing & Customer Relationship Management

Terry is our resident 'Scouseweigan', originating from Glasgow and now living in Liverpool after marrying a Liverpool lass.

Terry's favourite phrase when being questioned about the capability of our recommended CRM system 'Infusionsoft' is: "The answer is always YES so what's the question?"

Terry has 7 years experience working in CRM system implementation and currently runs the BNI Northwest, Europe & Brazil with Infusionsoft CRM with over 38,000 contacts.

Emma Lowe - Search engine optimisation & pay-per-click

Emma Lowe has worked in media, marketing and new media for over sixteen years and brings a wealth of knowledge over a broad range of advertising platforms.  

Emma spent the first 7 years of her career working with ad agencies, moving on to the Northcliffe Newspaper Group. Emma developed out of traditional press and media and into new media when she moved over to work on the roll-out of the this is network of localised newspaper websites.

Since then, Emma has worked with multiple SMEs developing their online marketing and SEO strategies. Emma managed the web marketing strategy of Trade Appliances, growing the business from 1million to 30million turnover in 5 years with over 80% of revenues coming through the web. The successful online marketing strategy of Trade Appliances won the National E-Commerce Award in 2004.

Emma's capability offers SMEs the benefit of all of her experience and knowledge gained in working in business and online media & marketing and focuses on targeting and conversions to achieve success for our clients.

 

Jason Watkins - E-commerce / Online Retail

Jason Watkins is an Internet entrepreneur and co-founder of Kitbag.com and has been actively involved with Internet related businesses since 1996.

He was a co-founder of a local systems integrator which sold for £5 million in 1999 to Morse PLC and successfully exited Kitbag.com when turnover reached £12 million. Jason was responsible for a number of departments including, IT, Operations and Marketing.

He devised and successfully managed the B2B strategy for Kitbag, which today, is still the largest and most profitable division. Kitbag now has annual online revenues of approximately £45 million.

During his tenure with Kitbag.com Jason worked alongside a number of global sports brands, F1 teams and football clubs; negotiating contracts to operate their ecommerce.

In addition, Jason helped implement the necessary operational changes required to ensure a smooth transition between systems.

Kitbag's clients include, Manchester United FC, Real Madrid FC, Barcelona FC, Chelsea FC, Celtic FC, Everton FC, Portsmouth FC, F1.com, Wimbledon.com, RFU, The FA, Reebok, Puma and FIFA.

Jason has since founded a number of web technology & software businesses and in 2009 completed an MBA at Nottingham University .

 

Jake Shaw - Video & Multimedia

Jake Shaw has worked in the film, TV and online media business for over twenty years and brings all of his knowledge to bear gained in feature film production to web based media to ensure your company's message is Informative and educational as well as entertaining.

Jake works with companies to bring their products and service closer to their clients. Jake does not do 'nice to have media' he does media that provides a good return on investment.

Jake realised the power of web by running a video viral campaign against a TV campaign the TV campaign bought 5,000 pairs of eyes; the viral campaign was ended after 200,000 click throughs!

A recent video on the web campaign return a traceable x16 ROI.

Starting with Granada TV’s ‘The Jewel in the Crown’ and ‘Prime Suspect’ Jake moving on to numerous international commercials for top-line products such as Orangina, Golden Wonder, BNFL, North West Water and Irish National lottery for agencies around the world.

Gary King - Copywriting

Gary King is an adventure sports and travel writer who has written for the global press in both print and online media for over a decade. In the UK he writes regularly for The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times. He has travelled extensively on assignments that have seen him racing to the North Pole, skydiving from hot air balloons and most recently, running from a very close encounter with a 300lb orangutan in the jungles of Sumatra.

He has written copy for numerous clients bolstering their marketing material with the power of words.

He is currently working with an international active sports company providing feedback and advice on their worldwide marketing strategy.

 

Anne Keegan - Human Resources

Anne has more than 25 years experience in the corporate and academic world having worked with national organisations such as ICL, Boots, Westbury Homes, Connex Rail, The Insolvency Service, Babcock Engineering and many more in the public and third sector. She also lectures on professional CIPD programmes at a leading centre of excellence. 

Anne has set up an HR function from scratch and knows first hand the issues involved in securing value adding and 'fit for purpose' people management and development practices. She offers expertise in workforce engagement, leadership development, professional and executive assessment.  

As a workforce engagement specialist and also as a qualified business coach, she has helped many small and medium sized businesses get more out of their people, making significant positive impact upon their bottom line profitability.

David Griffiths - Finance

David Griffiths is a commercially minded, proactive Chartered Accountant specialising in arranging finance for businesses.

After training and qualifying with Ernst & Young, David became Corporate Finance partner at Haines Watts, assisting clients with acquistions, management buy-outs and refinancing. 

In 1990, David set up, a professional Commercial Finance brokerage specialising in sourcing finance for clients. This business is well regarded amongst professionals and lenders, and is now the largest finance brokerage in the East Midlands.

In addition to raising finance, advice is offered in respect of restructuring debt, distress lending and business turnaround. David also holds non exec utive directorships and advisory role s for a number of business in the Midlands, across a variety of industry sectors.
